Sea. Art. Love

Paint with purpose: Vibrancy, life and the energy of the ocean are ingrained in my paintings. Literally. Sea water is carefully blended into the paint. Look at my paintings and you are actually looking at the sea.

Go even deeper... a tiny whelk shell embedded in the paint, one white fish with a red eye, positive words and messages, beach sand, 24-carat gold... and all done with purpose. A letter in a red envelope explains all, including the reason for the red envelope.

As a boy, my grandfather told me to learn what I could and it "will repay a thousand fold". He was right. I'm in my 7th decade of learning from the sea and it still repays me, my viewers and collectors in so many ways. I paint my love of the ocean, its freedoms and freshness into my work. All done with positive purpose.

About tiddli...

From age 8, tiddli walked miles to school, alone, along the beach at Hill Head on the Solent, in southern England. Today, he paints along that same beach and is inspired by the different oceans and seas he has seen and touched. He calls his work "love letters to the sea":

"All the oceans are connected, and we are all deeply connected to them, often without realising it. Oceans are also the connections that join people together, around the world. My paintings are all about connection, full of colour, energy and vision to stimulate feelings, thought and positivity about the oceans and ourselves. I have a very positive future vision of the seas: beautiful, abundant, clean and sustainable. I invite you to join me on the journey."

Being tiny as a boy, 'tiddli' was a name he was sometimes called at school, using it ironically now to emphasise his big thirst for colour, vibrancy, positivity and life!
